About Me
I just graduated from Georgetown University this past May, 2011 with a major in Biology. I conducted my thesis research with Dr. Eric Glasgow of Georgetown University Medical School. The research was done in the school’s zebrafish facility and my final paper was entitled, “Transgenic Zebrafish (Danio rerio): Generating a potential new model for studying development of intersex characteristics based on exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals.” I will be returning to complete a masters degree in biotechnology this coming fall, where I hope to gain some background in business and other applications of biology.
I am very interested in opportunities in entrepreneurship in the life science field, as well as Intellectual Property Law. At this point in my life I am not 100% sure which direction to take, however I am confident that after completing the masters degree and working in the biotechnology field for a few years, I will have a better handle on which path to follow. By blogging about my experiences in Shanghai, China and posting the interviews I will conduct with leaders in the life science sector, I hope to provide useful information to others in my field as well.
